Mary Pat Hanlin, MPS, CMP, DES served as Chief Executive Officer of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) beginning in 2017. As she transitions from her CEO role into a contracted leadership and consulting capacity in 2025, Mary Pat continues to bring her deep expertise in association management, strategic planning, and event operations to support ISSTD’s mission.
Prior to joining ISSTD, Mary Pat spent fifteen years working in marketing, event management, sales and customer service. In 2010, she launched her own marketing consulting business, MPH Marketing, where she supported both small business and non-profit clients with marketing tasks including website design, development of marketing collateral, and event management. She started my career working in the television industry in New York City.
She graduated from Georgetown University in 2017 with a Master of Professional Studies in Global Hospitality Leadership and holds a Bachelors of Science in Communication from Seton Hall University as well as a Certificate in Event Management from Indiana University. Additionally, she currently holds Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation through the Events Industry Council and the Digital Event Strategist (DES) designation through the PCMA Digital Experience Institute. She is a member of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE).
